The Grand Mosque in Padang, Indonesia is the biggest mosque in West Sumatra. It is also the second largest mosque in the whole Sumatra.

The exterior design amazed my eyes not after I enter the mosque, it was really beautiful. My eyes is full of amazement.

There are some rules that we need to follow for us to be able to enter the mosque. One of that is, women has to wear hijab, long sleeves and long skirts or pants, as a sign of respect. And, before we enter to the mosque we must remove our shoes and walk barefoot.

Me and my co-participants decided to go to the Grand Mosque late afternoon around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. That's why it is so hot considering our outfits. Nevertheless, it was worth it, all the sweats in my body is nothing compared to what my eyes see. It was a fantastic experience entering in a mosque and wearing hijab.

Tea Plantation

January 19, 2019

A mountain of Tea. I was fascinated by the tea formation in Kebun Teh Solok, Sumatera Barat.

It was our first day of field trip and everyone was excited. We went to the bus earlier than the expected time. The Tea Plantation was an hour away from UNP ridding a bus. The Tea Plantation was up the mountain that we could see the City of Padang during our ride. And when we came to our destination, we were so amazed by the tea. It was a vast space of tea plantation. It was like two mountains of tea was planted. Right after we go down to the bus, we felt the cold breeze of air. It feels like were in the other part of Indonesia. The air was cold. Therefore, we took advantage of the weather. We stayed for almost an hour in the tea plantation just to take a picture and enjoy the cold breeze.

After we are satisfied with our pictures we decided to go our next destination ...

Twin Lake "Diatas"

After our visiting the Tea Plantation, we will go Twin Lake. It was just 15 to 20 minutes away from the Tea plantation. We took first our lunch at the nearest restaurant in the Twin Lake, from there we can already see the Lake.

The Twin Lake that can be seen in West Sumatra is Diatas. The other twin can be seen in Bali, Indoensia which was named Dibawah.

When we came closer to the lake, it was breathtaking. The lake is so beautiful, so calm. Miss Nola is the mentor who is with us, told us that we can ride a boat. So we all ride in the boat. We roam 5 minutes in the middle of the lake seeing how wide it is. We tried to touch the water and it was cold. After our boat ridding, Some of my co-participants decided to take a bath in the lake, but I didn't because it was so cold. I'm already happy seeing them happy. LOL I just really can't take the coldness of the water.

While others were swimming, the other participant who didn't join the swimming roam around the mini park along the lake. There are thrills there where we can have team building. We tried to go up to the tree house, and from there we can see the calm Twin lake of West Sumatra.

Anai Valley Waterfalls

February 2, 2019

Our second field trip begun. We have so many places that we visited. The first stop was the Falls along the road. It was an hour away from Padang Indonesia.

The Anai Valley Waterfalls was located at the Singgalang, Sepuluh Koto, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra along right side  of the road. It was an amazing falls just beside the road, where even the passengers who will just pass by will be fascinated by it.

We didn't spend much time in the Falls since we still had to go to Bukittinggi. We just spend 15 minutes in the falls, taking picture and appreciating the beautiful water going down from the top of the moutain.

Harau Valley- Lima Puluh Kota

One of my favorite destination. The Harau Valley is located at Nagari Harau, Kec. Harau, Harau, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatera Barat. Estimated an hour away from Anai Valley Falls.

I considered Harau Valley as my favorite destination because everything there was instagramable. The place is so beautiful. The Harau Valley is like a park in the middle of big rock formation. I found it fascinating because of the idea that there could be a park in the middle of a huge rocks. It has a park were all the famous places in other countries are there; like the London bridge, the Eifl Tower in Paris, the windmill and many more. I didn't let any part of the place pass without a picture of me.

Harau Valley is like the door where we can pass and go to the other part of the world. There are several rides there like boating, biking and the different one is a flying carpet. Its the carpet of Aladin. Of coarse, I didn't let the opportunity pass, I tried the carpet of Aladin even though I have a fear of height. When I am already at the carpet, in the middle of the zip line, I was really shaking. I really felt scared. Luckily, I finish the 5 mins ride without hurting my self. Conquering my fear at my finest.

I hope I can come back there again because there are still some part of the valley were it is not yet done renovating. I hope someday when I return, it will be more attractive.

Bukittinggi Clock Tower

February 2, 2019

And finally, our last destination, Bukittinggi Clock Tower which is located in

Jln. Parak Kubang no. 40, Bukittinggi 26117, Indonesia. It is said to be that there are just 3 biggest clock tower in the world, One is in London, the other one is in India, and the other one was this, the Bukittinggi Clock Tower. It was an hour and a half away from the Harau valley. It is already very far from Padang.

Right after we came in Bukittinggi, what we did was shopping. according to our buddies, the items in the Bukittinggi are cheaper compare to Padang because that is where the seller bought the items. The buddies told us that the market was burned that is why it is under renovation. Unfortunately we cannot go closer to the Clock tower since it is under renovation. I felt sad that I cannot come closer to the clock but nevertheless, at least I saw it near. It is really a tall tower clock. Therefore I just go to the traditional market and just bought souvenirs that we will give to our family, friends and teachers.

I hope, if I my money will still permits me to go back in Bukittinggi, the clock tower is already open so that I can come closer.
