Teaching Plan

My teaching plan is designed in accordance to the curriculum and aligned to the standard and competency that the students must attain through out the session. The Teaching Plan format I used in SD Pembangunan Laboratorium, UNP is the one from the Philippines. Since the procedure of lesson plan in Indonesia is just the same from the Philippines, i decided to use the one from my country so that the strategy, activities, techniques and approach will be emphasize.

Here is my Lesson Plan that I used during my teaching in Grade 4, SD Pembangunan Laboratorium, UNP.

  1. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson

            Meninjau pelajaran sebelumnya atau menyajikan pelajaran baru

 

The teacher will give greeting to the student and teacher and ask one student to lead the prayer. After praying, the teacher will now check the attendance. The teacher will ask the students to align their chairs and pick up the pieces of paper around them. To build students concentrating, the teacher will ask the students to sing “10 little Indian boys”, so that they will be active during discussion. After that, the teacher will ask for a recap of what was the discussion last day: asking questions like “What is a Bar graph?”

Guru akan memberikan salam kepada siswa dan guru dan meminta satu siswa untuk memimpin doa. Setelah berdoa, guru sekarang akan memeriksa kehadiran. Guru akan meminta siswa untuk meluruskan kursi mereka dan mengambil potongan kertas di sekitar mereka. Untuk membangun siswa berkonsentrasi, guru akan meminta siswa untuk menyanyikan "10 anak laki-laki India kecil", sehingga mereka akan aktif selama diskusi. Setelah itu, guru akan meminta rekap tentang apa diskusi hari terakhir.

  1. Establishing the purpose of the lesson

The learners be asked about what are their favorite fruits. And the teacher will write it on the board. After that, the teacher will make a bar diagram and she will call students who will plot the data into the diagram. Then, the teacher will check if their answer is correct. The teacher will ask the students: “Why do we need to use a Bar Graph”?

Peserta didik ditanyai apa buah favorit mereka. Dan guru akan menuliskannya di papan tulis. Setelah itu, guru akan membuat diagram batang dan dia akan memanggil siswa yang akan memplot data ke dalam diagram. Kemudian, guru akan memeriksa apakah jawaban mereka benar. Guru akan bertanya kepada siswa: "Mengapa kita perlu menggunakan Grafik Batang"?

  1. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson

       Menyajikan contoh / contoh dari pelajaran baru

           The teacher will show an example of finished bar graph to the students. The bar graph is about “Birthday of students by month”. And she will explain about Bar graph.

Guru akan menunjukkan contoh grafik batang jadi kepada siswa. Grafik batang adalah tentang "Ulang tahun siswa menurut bulan". Dan dia akan menjelaskan tentang grafik Bar.

  1. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills

Membahas konsep baru dan mempraktikkan keterampilan baru

 

The teacher will explain to the students about bar graph and its parts.

Parts of the Bar Diagram:

  • Title

  • Scale (Y-axis)

  • Category (X-axis)

  • Bars

​

Also, the teacher will cite some importance or advantages of using bar graph

After the thorough explanation, the teacher will ask if the students have questions and the teacher will address the question if necessary.

 

Advantages

  • show each data category in a frequency distribution

  • display relative numbers or proportions of multiple categories

  • summarize a large data set in visual form

  • clarify trends better than do tables

  • estimate key values at a glance

  • permit a visual check of the accuracy and reasonableness of calculations

  • be easily understood due to widespread use in business and the media

 

The teacher will show another example of using a Bar graph such as Foods that are in school canteen. The teacher will give the data to the students about the food that is being sell in canteen. There is a picture provided from the projector which they need to count how many foods are there and they need to plot it in the manila paper. After the students plot the bar diagram, the teacher will check if the answer was correct.

Guru akan menjelaskan kepada siswa tentang grafik batang dan bagian-bagiannya.

Juga, guru akan mengutip beberapa kepentingan atau keuntungan menggunakan grafik batang

Setelah penjelasan menyeluruh, guru akan bertanya apakah siswa memiliki pertanyaan dan guru akan menjawab pertanyaan jika perlu.

 

Keuntungan

• menunjukkan setiap kategori data dalam distribusi frekuensi

• menampilkan angka relatif atau proporsi beberapa kategori

• merangkum kumpulan data besar dalam bentuk visual

• mengklarifikasi tren lebih baik daripada tabel

• memperkirakan nilai kunci secara sekilas

• memungkinkan pemeriksaan visual tentang akurasi dan kewajaran perhitungan

• mudah dimengerti karena penggunaan yang luas dalam bisnis dan media

 

Guru akan menunjukkan contoh lain menggunakan grafik Bar seperti Makanan yang ada di kantin sekolah. Guru akan memberikan data kepada siswa tentang makanan yang dijual di kantin. Ada gambar yang disediakan dari proyektor yang mereka perlu hitung berapa banyak makanan yang ada dan mereka perlu plot di kertas manila. Setelah siswa merencanakan diagram batang, guru akan memeriksa apakah jawabannya benar.

The teacher will show again another example: Data of Sports played in the field.

            Menemukan aplikasi praktis dari konsep dan keterampilan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari

          

The teacher will pair the students to have ask the students to have a sharing of how to make a bar group given their favorite fruit. First, the teacher will ask students to state their favorite fruit in Padang. After giving of data, the students will be paired and have to plot the data given about the favorite fruit.

BAHASA TRANSLATION

Guru akan memasangkan siswa untuk meminta siswa berbagi bagaimana membuat kelompok bar memberikan buah favorit mereka. Pertama, guru akan meminta siswa untuk menyatakan buah favorit mereka di Padang. Setelah memberikan data, siswa akan dipasangkan dan harus memplot data yang diberikan tentang buah favorit.

  1. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson

      Membuat generalisasi dan abstraksi tentang pelajaran

 

The teacher will now ask the students of what they have learnt from the entire discussion. The teacher will ask random students to share their insights and learnings. After that, the teacher will also ask if there is still any question, clarifications or reactions about the lesson.

Guru sekarang akan bertanya kepada siswa tentang apa yang telah mereka pelajari dari seluruh diskusi. Guru akan meminta siswa secara acak untuk berbagi wawasan dan pembelajaran mereka. Setelah itu, guru juga akan bertanya apakah masih ada pertanyaan, klarifikasi atau reaksi tentang pelajaran tersebut.

In my lesson plan there is an inclusion of Bahasa Translation so that my cooperating teacher will understand my procedures, design, techniques, stratetgy and approach.
